Introducing a Paradigm Shift

WHEN YOUR PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER IS A LICENSED COUNSELOR...

South Congress Athletic Club would like to invite those of the fitness community to a presentation addressing the effects of movement and exercise and one's mental health: A whole person approach to exercise with mental and physical benefits.

Topics we will be exploring are:
  • The foundations of the personal training process (ethics, building rapport, and communication)
  • A revision of intake assessment that incorporates a holistic approach towards goals
  • Emotional and mental changes that occur during movement and exercise
  • Mental goals
  • Indicators of eating disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders
  • Appropriate termination for clients
From the whole-person approach, wellness encompasses both the physical and emotional aspects. The body and mind work intermittently to create a balance. Psycho-social impact of weight, body image, eating disorders, addictions, age and aging, loss and bereavement, and stress management are just a few components that can be affected by imbalances between the body and mind. We welcome all fitness professionals and those seeking fitness consultation to enjoy an evening of exploring these various topics.
